Nine motorists charged with DWI

The following motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Jody C. Wenzel, 34, Potsdam, was charged by Potsdam police with aggravated DWI, failure to keep right and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 10:53 p.m. Friday after he allegedly drove off Elm Street and hit a street sign.

Mr. Wenzel had a blood alcohol content of 0.24 percent, police said.

State law says a BAC of 0.08 percent or more constitutes intoxication, while a 0.18 percent BAC is the state threshold for aggravated DWI.

■ Dennis M. Lavoie, 21, of 22769 Route 180, Dexter, was also charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with failure to keep right at 11:33 p.m. Friday on Route 12F in the town of Watertown. He had a BAC of 0.14 percent, deputies said.

■ Rodney L. Johnson, 45, of 336B Quaker Ave., Philadelphia, was also charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with following too closely and driving on the road shoulder at 11:33 p.m. Friday on Route 3 in the town of Hounsfield.

He had a BAC of 0.16 percent, deputies said.

■ Moses B. Charles, 24, of 435 Gaffney Drive, Watertown, was also charged by city police with failure to signal a turn at 1:42 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Arsenal Street. He had a BAC of 0.14 percent, police said.

■ Barbara A. Och, 54, of 112 Barker Road, Lot 15, Antwerp, was also charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with moving from a lane unsafely and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle at 4:24 a.m. Friday on Route 11 in the town of LeRay.

■ Timothy J. Klotz, 23, Lowville, was charged by state police at 1:12 a.m. Saturday on Number Four Road in the town of Lowville. His BAC was not available.

■ Nicholas M. Kafka, 19, Boonville, also was charged by state police with failure to stop at a stop sign at 3:16 a.m. Saturday on Franklin Street in the town of West Turin.

His BAC was 0.12 percent, police said.

■ Cory J. Ferguson, 23, Albion, was charged by state police at 12:25 p.m. Friday on Riverside Drive in Clayton. His BAC was 0.16 percent, police said.

■ Joshua E. Martin, 24, Richland, was charged by state police at 5:31 p.m. Thursday on Harwood Drive in Lacona. His BAC was 0.14 percent, police said.
